That method didn't help. Is there another way to get my printer working?

Hi @DeanS_my,

Thank you for trying the suggested steps. Since resetting the printing system did not resolve the issue, let's check a few additional details to identify the cause:

  1. Is the printer connected to your Mac through USB or a network connection?
  2. Does the printer appear in System Settings > Printers & Scanners, or does it show an error or offline status?
  3. When you try to print, do you receive any specific error message?
  4. Have you tried adding the printer again through System Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer?

Please share these details so we can determine the next troubleshooting steps.

Best regards,

Thank you for your response. Here are the details regarding your questions:

  1. The printer is connected to my Mac via USB. This specific printer model does not support network connections.
  2. Yes, the printer does show up in System Settings > Printers & Scanners. If I remove the printer and add it back, it initially displays a green indicator and status showing it is "Ready".
  3. Yes, there is a specific error message. The moment I attempt to print any document, the print job fails, the status indicator changes to a yellow "Error", and the print queue displays a message stating that the printer software is not compatible with the device.
  4. Yes, I have tried removing and re-adding the printer multiple times. As mentioned above, it adds successfully but fails as soon as a print job is sent. I also tried downloading and installing the drivers available on both the HP and Apple websites, but those drivers appear to be outdated.

I have attached 3 screenshots to this message so you can see the exact error messages on my end. Please let me know what the next steps are.

Hello, the issue has been resolved. It was enough to install Rosetta via the terminal. I am pasting the terminal command here.

Here are the steps:

1. Remove the printer.
2. Open the terminal and run the command: "softwareupdate --install-rosetta" entr
3. Install and add the printer back.

The problem is solved on my end.
