Hello - my printer options do not present the choice to print in greyscale, colour or black and white.

1. My printer has ink in it.

2. I have selected printer properties, paper quality, advanced and THERE IS NO OPTION FOR GREYSCALE etc

3. I have uninstalled the printer and driver and reinstalled.

4. My laptop is Windows 10 and fully updated.

5. This problem has occured since my last windows update that resulted in me having to reinstall the printer driver. (which i have now uninstalled and reinstalled again).

I would be very grateful for some help. Thank you

Thanks SandyTech for your reply, The HP remote access team solved the problem: a new driver for a newer model of Printer was required to be installed: apparantly Windows' latest update has made some HP drivers not able to perform to their best. Thanks to the remote access team and HP support forum for helping: both much smoother than shouting at the printer!

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 Printer. I understand that it is not printing in color and you do not find greyscale option and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

Click windows key on  the keyboard.

Type devices and printers and click on it.

Right click on the printer select printer properties.

Go to device settings.

Go almost all the way down to device type an change to color.

save the changes then go to printer preferences and in the color tab make sure the option print in grayscale its not checked .

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.
