Is there a solution to this problem?  I have the same issue - printer reports "Download unsuccessful", "Unable to download update".  I have not performed the steps that the previoius poster cited, (unplug, replug with power button held down) since that appears to have messed up the hp instant ink account link.  any advice is appreciated.

Strangely, in the past week the issue seems to have resolved itself.  teh printer now reports it is up to date with a firmware build from 7/12/2021.
