I installed Sequoia 15.2. My Envy 110 printer prints, but I cannot scan either with HP Easy Scan or Preview. I reset the printers and added the printer back in and the problem didn't go away. I'm running an M1 MacBook Pro.

Hi @BradK3,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer works fine for printing but refuses to scan, especially when you’ve tried some troubleshooting steps already. Let’s work together to fix this issue.
- Have you tried scanning directly from the printer’s control panel, and does it produce the same issue?
- When attempting to scan, do you receive any specific error messages, or does the scanner not respond at all?
- Did this issue start only after installing Sequoia 15.2, or was scanning already problematic before?
- This could be compatibility issues with your current OS. You may the compatible versions below.
Let's also try these steps.
Check for Driver Compatibility:
- Visit the HP support site and ensure you’ve installed the latest drivers and software for macOS Sequoia 15.2. Download any available updates specifically for scanning functionality.
Use HP Smart App:
- Install or update the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store. Add your printer to the app and try scanning from there.
Check Scanner Permissions:
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders and ensure HP Easy Scan and Preview have permission to access the scanner.
Reset the Printing System:
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners, right-click the printer list, and select Reset Printing System. Add the printer back again and test scanning.
Test with Image Capture:
- Open Image Capture (built-in macOS app), select your printer from the devices list, and attempt to scan. This bypasses HP software and can help identify if the issue is software-related.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be due to a compatibility problem between Sequoia 15.2 and the HP drivers.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

I went through all the steps suggested below. I tried to install a new HP driver, but the latest update only supports MacOS 10.12 and here we are now at Sequoia 15.3. The scanner errors out with Image Capture also. I have no problem scanning on my iPhone with IOS 18.3. So, it looks like I must scan with my iPhone to iCloud to get documents to my Mac until HP updates their driver.

I'm still having the problem with scanning. Easy Scan errors out, Image Capture and Preview both error out with -21345 error code. No problem scanning with my iPhone. Every once in a while I get a popup stating the HP print extension is legacy software. I have not found any new driver for Sequoia 15.3 software. I can't be the only one having this problem.

@BradK3, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue likely stems from compatibility problems between macOS Sequoia 15.2/15.3 and the HP scanning drivers or extensions. Here’s what we can do next:
HP ENVY 110 e-All-in-One Printer series supports up to macOS 10.12.
You can however, use Airprint - About AirPrint - Apple Support
AirPrint is a built-in printing solution for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. You can print from most apps that have a print feature.
You may also refer to this document: HP Products - My operating system is not listed on HP Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
