I've been a loyal customer of HP for years that included both computers and printers. Now that my wife and I are pushing 80 years of age we have to look for ways to live within our budget. If I don't need quality   print and just doing odd jobs and receipts and taxes I'll use a generic ink. The last update for my HP 6978 has stopped me from using generic ink if this update can't be reversed I'll have to switch to another printer other than HP. I didn't appreciate it being blindsided with no advance warning of what it would have caused. Thank you
