Hi @SFgiant,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like there might be a connection issue between your iPhone and the HP Envy 7900 All-in-One printer, possibly related to the printer's network setup or security certificates.

Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

Restart Devices

  • Restart both your iPhone and the printer. Power them off for at least 30 seconds before turning them back on.

Check Printer's Network Connection

  • Ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone.
  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report from your printer to verify the connection. You can usually do this from the printer’s control panel under the Network Settings or Wi-Fi section.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to the printer’s control panel and check for firmware updates. An outdated firmware can cause connectivity problems.
  • You can also use the HP Smart app on your iPhone to check for updates.

Check Security Settings

  • The "not trusted" message when accessing the printer's IP address might indicate an issue with the security certificate.
  • To bypass this, when you visit the IP address of the printer on your iPhone and see the warning, look for an option to "Proceed" or "Trust" the connection (usually under "Advanced" settings).

Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer, go to the Network Settings menu and choose Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network after resetting the settings.

Reinstall the Printer on iPhone

  • Forget the printer from your iPhone by going to Settings > Wi-Fi, then selecting your printer and tapping Forget this Network.
  • Reinstall the printer by going to Settings > Printers (or use AirPrint) and searching for the printer again.

Test with HP Smart App

  • If you haven't already, download and use the HP Smart app on your iPhone to add and manage your printer. This app can provide more direct troubleshooting guidance and a smoother setup process for wireless printing.

Reset Printer

  • If nothing works, consider performing a factory reset on your printer. This will clear any connection issues and allow you to start fresh. Be sure to follow your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
