Refurbishing program

When I bought a new 8139e printer recently I was told that I could take my 2 old printers to Target and other stores; when I did that the staff didn’t know anything about it.  
please give me an updated list of where I can take my old printers.   Thx.

I have not heard of a refurbishment program where you can take old tech to be refurbished.

Charity organizations -- at least those with the facilities to complete the task -- might invest in the kind of infrastructure to refurbish and then resell donated tech.

Were it mine to do, I'd start with the person or company who told me what you describe is possible.

OR

Perhaps talk to whomever sold you the printer.

For example, if you purchased the printer from HP, contact the HP Store Customer Service department.
