My printer hp deskjet 3630 is currently set to European (Germany) but I would like to change it to the United State or Asian Country where it can accept the 63XXL cartridge. I contacted the support person via Whatsapp and was informed that I need the original cartridge 302 in order to do the region change (needed specific codes from the old cartridge)? The 302 cartridge is however not available where i am living.
The information were new and a bit of a hassle if that were the case to change the cartridge region. Is it really the case for changing the region.
Any solution is very much appreciated.

Hi @Region_Change,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand how inconvenient this situation must feel, especially when you’re trying to get your HP DeskJet 3630 working in a different region and can’t find the HP 302 cartridges.
To clarify, yes, when performing a printer regionalization (region reset), HP requires original setup or standard cartridges from the current region (in your case, 302 for Europe) as well as new cartridges from the destination region (for example, 63 or 63XL for the U.S.).
This process is necessary because each printer is configured to recognize ink cartridge series specific to its sales region. The codes generated to reset the printer’s region are based on the electronic ID (chip) of the old regional cartridges, hence the need for at least one original cartridge from the current region.
I request you to please get back to me with the following information, so that I can help you change the region settings on the printer.
Do you still have the ink cartridges for both the regions
Do you have a printer USB cable?
Which OS is on the PC? Is it Windows or Mac?
Do you have the printer's full feature software and drivers installed on your PC?
Hope this helps!
Take care and have an amazing day!
