hi, need help. did a region reset twice with the help of an hp support staff but unfortunately nothing happens or it failed. still the cartridge in my new region is not detected/incompatible. here's the brief details for reference.

old region: saudi arabia/middle east

old cartridge: 652

new region: philippines

new cartridge: 680

perform region reset twice and all succeeded after entering the code but still the new cartridge is not detected. is there something wrong with the process that the hp support staff did? i followed all his instructions up to the letter but to no avail. i understand that you could only do region reset 3 times before the printer locks out and deemed unusable. we already did two, so i have one more chance left. any help by the experts here would be highly appreciated. thank you.

@BrySkid, Welcome to HP Support Community!

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Take care and have a good day.

Hey @BrySkid,

Thank you for providing the details.

I see that you've already performed the region reset twice, and you're aware that doing it again would be the last attempt. Before proceeding with another region change, please double-check if the cartridges you've purchased are genuine.

Also, I suggest you refer to this guide: HP ink cartridge issues including, incompatible, missing and not recognized errors | HP® Support

Let me know how it goes.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Garp,

Yes, the cartridges are genuine HP and compatible with my printer. it’s just that my printer came from a different region. The only solution is region reset. I am aware this is my last attempt. Shall we proceed? I hope it will be performed correctly this time. Thank you.

Regards.
