Hello, I purchased a HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e in the US, and have since moved to the UAE (Dubai). The compatible ink cartridges that I can purchase locally changed from 936 series (US) to 938 series (Middle East). Please assist with changing the region from US to United Arab Emirates.
Thank you in advance.

Hi @ChrissyG87,
Welcome to HP Support Community!
We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
To access your private messages, simply click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile name.

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:
1. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.
2. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.
3. Make sure HP Smart App is installed too.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Alright folks, I am sharing my 3-weeks of pain so that you can hopefully avoid the same issues!
1) It is impossible to do a regionalisation reset via the Mac 'HP' App. I had HP connect to my laptop and try via the 'HP' App (now called 'HP' instead of 'HP Smart' on Mac) and came to the same conclusion.
2) It is impossible to do the regionalisation reset over WiFi. I had to buy a USB cable since it did not come with the printer, and this worked!
3) On Windows (or in my case, Windows via Parallels virtual machine on my MacBook Pro), open 'HP Smart' app (still called 'HP Smart' on Windows):
--> Click on the gear wheel icon ('View and change app settings.') in the lower left corner.
--> Click on 'About'.
--> Hold down 'Ctrl' + 'Shift' + 'Right Click' on the blue HP Smart icon in the middle of the screen (if you do this over WiFi you receive an error code --> 'Unable to read the printer's region information').
4) Share the 'Provide the information below to support personnel' ideally via screenshot, otherwise share information via 'Copy To Clipboard' to HP via this forum --> private message (need to sign-up and start a new chat).
5) Wait for the smart people at HP to give you a new code (I won't share mines as I guess that these are unique). I had to wait longer as there was an issue with the regionalisation reset application at HP that had to be resolved first.
6) Restart printer per instruction (I restarted and it did not work. Then I shutdown and unplugged for 5-mins and it still did not work).
7) If not working, with the printer on + connected to the internet, open the front door + remove the cartridges (mine were brand new 938e genuine cartridges). Reinsert to force another 'Validation'. It finally worked!
Hope this helps!
