I bought an HP Officejet Pro 8610 in the US several years ago. I replaced all the ink cartridges and am getting an Incompatible Ink Cartridge error. I just realized the old ink in my printer that ran out has a Z20 (Europe) number while the replacement ink cartridges are Z10 (US). I am in the US and bought everything in the US so need to get a Regionalization Reset from HP. I followed the posts on here to get to the Support page but it just keeps saying my printer is out of warranty. I need help! How can I contact HP to get this Regionalization Reset?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Which country were you in before cam back to the US?
To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:
1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.
2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.
3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region to which you want to reset it to.
Let us know 🙂
Thanks!

Hi-
I did not live outside the US. I bought the printer in the US from Amazon years ago not realizing at the time whomever sold it to me, sent a non-US printer. The cartridges that came with the printer and worked have a Z20 code for: Europe,Russia,Middle East & Africa. Thus it must be from one of those regions.
Yes- I’ll have my computer hooked up to the printer with the USB cable and everything else you asked once ready.
Thank you so much for helping!

And since you asked besides being ready with the laptop connected via USB to the printer, I also have the full feature software installed, and all the old plus new cartridges.
My laptop is running Windows 7 Home edition. Let me know if I need a computer running a different version of Windows.
Thanks!

Thanks 🙂
1) Launch the printer software from the desktop icon or from the Start menu, click Start, All Programs, HP, the Product Name, and then the Product Name again.
2) Double-click the Estimated Ink Levels icon in the printer software. The Estimated Ink Levels window opens.
3) Press and hold the CTRL and SHIFT keys, and then right-click anywhere in the Estimated Ink Levels window, except for a button. The Set New Region window opens.
4) If the Set New Region window fails to open, right-click to the right and left of the Estimated Ink Levels window.
5) Take a screenshot of the screen and send it to me.
