Hi @768888

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for choosing HP printer!

Yes — it’s a good idea to register your new HP printer after setup. While it’s not mandatory for basic printing, registration gives you:

Warranty activation (HP will have your purchase date on record).

Support eligibility (phone/chat support often requires registration).

Access to services like HP Instant Ink (if supported).

Firmware & driver updates tied to your device.

How to register your HP printer

Go to HP’s official registration page:
https://register.hp.com

Sign in with an HP account (or create one).

Enter your printer’s serial number (found on a sticker on the back, bottom, or inside the cartridge access area).

Fill in purchase details (store, date of purchase).

Submit → your printer will be linked to your HP account.

Alternative: If you’re using the HP Smart app (on Windows, macOS, iOS, or Android), when you add the printer there, it usually prompts you to register automatically.
