I have a register HP 8600 printer that shows on my HP account?  Why am I getting "0 owned printers" on HPSMART?  I can see HPSMART trying to sync with the server but my printer need shows.

If your registered HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus E-All-In-One Printer is not showing up on the HP Smart app or HP Connected, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are troubleshooting steps you can try:

 

Ensure Printer is Connected to the Internet:

  • Check if your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus is connected to the internet. The printer needs to be connected to your Wi-Fi network for it to be recognized by the HP Smart app.

Verify Printer Registration:

  • Make sure that your printer is properly registered with your HP account. Log in to your HP account on the HP Connected website to confirm the registration status.

Update HP Smart App:

  • Ensure that you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app. Outdated versions may not be fully compatible with the printer or may have bugs that have been addressed in newer releases.

Restart HP Smart App:

  • Close and reopen the HP Smart app. Sometimes, simply restarting the app can help it refresh and recognize the registered printer.

Check Chrome OS Compatibility:

  • Confirm that the HP Smart app is compatible with your Chrome OS version. If there are any compatibility issues, you may need to wait for an app update or use an alternative method to manage your printer.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app from your Chrome OS device and reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store. This can help resolve any issues with the app installation.

Verify Printer Visibility Settings:

  • On your printer, check the visibility settings. Some printers have privacy settings that may prevent them from being discovered by external applications. Ensure that the visibility settings are configured to allow remote management.

Factory Reset the Printer (if necessary):

  • As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. This should be done cautiously, as it will reset all settings on the printer. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
