I purchased a refurbished HP Smart printer on eBay.
went through the set up instructions and at the end, I get a message telling me the printer is registered to another account therefore I cannot complete the set up and cannot use Print anywhere options. I have contacted HP to ask how the printer can be unregistered so that I can register it to my account (I have proof of purchase) and HP have said it cannot be unregistered unless the previous owner unregisters it! Is this true? Is there not a way this can be done? On the app it keeps telling me to complete set up but I can’t!

I understand the printer is registered to the old owners account.

Yes, the printer cannot be unregistered from our end. Must be done by the customer themselves.
