HP ENVY 5050 All-in-One Printer

I purchased a printer which already has ink in it. I have tried to register for instant ink but it is still registered to the previous owner. How can I register so I am able to use the printer and pay the monthly subscription. Printer is useless if I can’t use it. Thanks

Hi @StuD43,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing issues registering your HP ENVY 5050 All-In-One Printer with Instant Ink. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

As you mentioned the printer was purchased which already had ink, in that case, the previous owner has to cancel his Instant Ink subscription and has to return the old ink cartridges back to HP. Once they cancel the subscription you may enroll the printer to Instant Ink.

Now you may go ahead and use the printer by installing regular inks. You may order them directly from the HP shopping website

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi.

Thank you for getting back to me.

I purchased the printer from a gentleman who was moving overseas with work and have no contact details for him now.

does that mean I will be unable to register the printer?
