Hi @Toadman4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To help you properly reinstall and reconnect the printer to your MacBook/Mac Pro, could you please let us know:

  • The exact HP printer model,
  • The macOS version currently installed,
  • And have you already tried reinstalling the printer?

Also:

  • Are you receiving any specific error message during setup or printing?
  • Are you connecting:
    • Through Wi-Fi,
    • USB,
    • Or HP app?

In the meantime, please try these quick basic steps:

  1. Remove the Printer from Mac
  • Go to:
    • System Settings → Printers & Scanners
  • Right-click or Control-click the printer and choose:
    • Remove Printer
  1. Restart Both Devices
  • Restart the Mac,
  • Power cycle the printer,
  • Then reconnect both to the same Wi-Fi network before reinstalling.

Once you share the printer model and macOS version, we can guide you with the correct installation steps for your setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
