Hi Alden4,
Thanks for your reply.
I kept checking this and discovered that I had lost wi-fi connection with the printer and could not re-connect without the use of a wi-fi USB. I will be going out tomorrow to get one and hopefully that should fix things.
Kind regards,
Bruce

Hi @Bruce194,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The password required to reinstall a printer on your computer will depend on the operating system you are using and the type of printer you have.
If you are using a Windows computer, you may need to provide your administrator password to reinstall the printer. This is the password you use to log in to your computer and make changes to system settings. If you don't remember your administrator password, you can try resetting it using the instructions provided by Microsoft.
If you are using a Mac computer, you may need to provide your system password to reinstall the printer. This is the password you use to log in to your Mac and make changes to system settings. If you don't remember your system password, you can try resetting it using the instructions provided by Apple.
If you are reinstalling a network printer, you may also need to provide the password for the printer's network connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
