I already cancelled my subscription to HP INK and need to remove printer. It will not remove in settings and still thinks I have a subscription.

Hi @Melissa175

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If you've already canceled your HP Instant Ink subscription but are having trouble removing your printer from the settings, follow these steps to ensure the printer is properly removed:

Check HP Instant Ink Dashboard:

  • Go to HP Instant Ink Dashboard.
  • Sign in with your HP account credentials.
  • Ensure your subscription status shows as canceled or inactive.

Restart or Reset Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Wait about 10 seconds, then plug it back in and turn on the printer.
  • This step can help reset internal settings and connections.

Remove Printer from HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Go to the "Printers" section.
  • Select your printer from the list and choose "Remove Printer."
  • Follow the prompts to complete the removal process.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer is running the latest firmware. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues with subscription status updates.
  • Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads, enter your printer model, and follow the instructions to download and install the latest firmware.
