Hi @Gokulb,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To reset the Admin Username and Password for your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4720 All-in-One Printer, follow these steps carefully. This is especially useful if you're locked out of the Embedded Web Server (EWS) or HP Smart Admin settings.

Reset HP DeskJet 4720 Admin Password

🧩 Option 1: Restore Network Settings (Soft Reset)

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
  3. This will restore the network settings to default, including the admin password for the web interface.

After this, the printer will broadcast a default Wi-Fi Direct name, and you can reconnect using the default credentials.

Option 2: Full Factory Reset (If Admin Password Still Blocks Access)

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Cancel + Wireless + Power buttons together.
  3. Keep holding for 10–15 seconds until the printer powers on and shows a reset message.
  4. Release the buttons and wait for the reset to complete.

⚠️ This will erase all settings, including Wi-Fi, admin credentials, and custom configurations.

Access the Printer's Web Interface After Reset

  1. Connect your computer to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct or local network.
  2. Open a browser and go to:
    http://192.168.223.1 (Wi-Fi Direct)
    or
    http://[printer IP address] (local network)
  3. You should now be able to access the EWS (Embedded Web Server) without a password or with the default credentials.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
