I keep getting a yellow flashing light and to the best of my knowledge it's something to do with ink catridges

@Jt9869, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're seeing a yellow flashing light on your HP Tango printer, and it seems related to the ink cartridges. I’ll guide you through the steps to resolve this.

A blinking yellow light on the HP Tango printer typically indicates an issue with the ink cartridges, this could be due to:

  • Improper cartridge installation
  • Low or empty ink
  • Cartridge not recognized
  • Protective tape not removed

Steps to Reset and Troubleshoot

Check the Ink Cartridges

  • Open the printer cover.
  • Remove both cartridges.
  • Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly until they click into place.

Check for Protective Tape

  • Ensure the plastic tape covering the ink nozzles has been removed. If not, gently peel it off.

Power Reset the Printer

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn the printer on.

Check HP Smart App

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or PC. HP Smart
  • Go to Printer Status to see if any specific error messages appear.

Update Firmware (if needed)

  • Visit the HP Support page.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Tango) and install any available firmware updates.

If the issue persists, try performing a printer reset:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless and Power buttons together for about 5 seconds.
  2. Release when the printer starts blinking.
  3. Reconnect the printer using the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
