@Eftimovska, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
To ensure your HP Deskjet D1460 works with your new Windows 11 laptop, you can follow these steps:
Install the Printer Software
HP Support Website: Visit HP's official support website and search for drivers for the Deskjet D1460. If the official Windows 11 driver is not available, you might try using a Windows 10 driver, as they are often compatible.
Automatic Detection:
- Connect your printer to the laptop via USB.
- Open the Windows 11 Settings by pressing Windows Key + I.
- Navigate to Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click on Add a printer or scanner and follow the on-screen instructions. Windows will attempt to find the necessary drivers.
Manual Installation
If the above methods do not work, you can try:
Use Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security.
- Click on Windows Update, and select Check for updates. Windows might download the necessary driver as part of the update.
Compatibility Mode:
- Right-click the downloaded driver file or the installation executable.
- Select Properties > Compatibility.
- Check Run this program in compatibility mode for, and choose Windows 10.
- Click Apply, then OK. Run the installation again.
Check for Issues
- Ensure that the printer is powered on and properly connected to the laptop via USB.
- Try different USB ports on your laptop.
- Double-check that there are no hardware issues with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
