Hi Maria,
The HP Solution Center software is available for your printer for Windows 7, the HP Printer Assistant s intended for later HP Products only.
If you connect the priinter with a USB, from the Control Panel select Devices and Printers.
Right click the shown P Photosmart Printer and select Remove Device, then unplug the USB.
Be sure not to connect the cable prior the installaton prompt to do so.
You may download and insall the HP Full Feature Software below, the software includes the HP Solution Center program:

Hi bnahien, this solution is only available for windows 8.
Thanks for your help. It does not work with windows 7.
Why should I upgrade if I dont need to!!!????
Will try solution number 2!
Kindest regards,
Maria from Argentina where a new laptop is really expensive!

Hi Maria,
Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.
Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234) (browse by modified date to locate the latest folder if there are few)
Open the Setup folder.
Open the SolutionCenter folder.
Right click SolutionCenter.msi (A Windows Installer package) and select repair.
If you are being prompt to browse for a file copy the address of the current folder from the top bar, paste it into the dialog and press OK.
Once you are done reboot your PC and try launching the HP Solution Center again.
Regards,
Shlomi

Hi all,
Thanks for your help, I have read in other forums that HP is not givving support for Solution Center anymore.
It was replaced by another program for printers manufactered after 2010.
As I dont use my printer very much, i decided to use Paint to scan and it prints OK.
So, at the moment I will just remain with the software suggested by Shlomil.
It did not solve the problem, but due HP has decided to move on.
Thanks very much!!

Shlomil I did not find a 7z setup folder. So, I just decided to stick without solution center.
