Hi @kjcjmt54 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to sync the clock of your HP ENVY 5640 e-All-in-One Printer with your computer, you can follow these steps. Although there is no direct option to sync the clock as there is in some other models, you can set the date and time manually through the printer's control panel. Here's how:

Manually Setting the Date and Time on the HP ENVY 5640 Printer

Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to your computer or network.

Access the Control Panel:

  • From the printer's home screen, navigate to the Settings menu. This is typically represented by a gear icon.

Navigate to Preferences:

  • In the Settings menu, look for Preferences or Tools. Sometimes this can be found under Printer Maintenance.

Set Date and Time:

  • In the Preferences or Tools menu, look for Date and Time settings. Select this option.
  • Use the on-screen keypad to set the correct date and time. Ensure that you set the correct AM/PM if your printer uses a 12-hour format.

Confirm and Save:

  • Confirm the changes and save the settings.

Using HP Printer Assistant (if available)

HP Printer Assistant software might also provide an option to set the date and time:

Open HP Printer Assistant:

  • Open the HP Printer Assistant software on your Windows 11 computer. You can usually find it by searching "HP Printer Assistant" in the Start menu.

Navigate to Printer Maintenance:

  • In HP Printer Assistant, look for a section like Printer Maintenance or Utilities.

Set Date and Time:

  • If an option to set the date and time is available, follow the prompts to set it up.

Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

If you're unable to find these options, ensure that your printer firmware is up to date, as firmware updates can sometimes add or improve features.

  1. Check for Updates:
    • Go to HP's support website and download the latest firmware for your HP ENVY 5640 printer model.
    • Follow the instructions to update the printer's firmware.

Refer to this document: HP ENVY 5640 e-All-in-One Printer series User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
