Hello,
I have the exact same problem as described here (and have tried the same steps): https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/7005-prints-image-on-6x10-paper-too-hig...
Was there a solution found for this?

Hi @esatp,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reaching out If you are haveing same printer and Mac device and if still have trouble and if You're using the HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One and encountering image cropping and misalignment when printing 6x4" photos from an iOS device — specifically, the top is cropped and there’s a large margin at the bottom. This is a known behavior often caused by how iOS handles photo scaling and paper margins, especially when printing via AirPrint or through the HP Smart app.
Recommended Steps to Fix Photo Misalignment on 6x4" Paper:
1. Use the HP Smart App (not AirPrint directly)
- Ensure you're printing from within the HP Smart app (not the Photos app or another app).
- In the HP Smart app:
- Tap the photo.
- Tap the print icon.
- Under Paper Size, ensure 4x6" / 10x15cm borderless is selected.
- Under Paper Type, choose Photo Paper or Glossy depending on what you're using.
- Set Print Quality to Best.
- Make sure Fit to Page or Fill Page is enabled (not "Actual Size").
2. Manually Adjust the Image Before Printing
- Try cropping or resizing the photo slightly using the iOS Photos app or a photo editor before printing.
- In some cases, iOS assumes a border even for borderless printing unless it's explicitly told to fill.
3. Printer Settings via Embedded Web Server (EWS)
If the app still misaligns:
- Connect the printer to Wi-Fi.
- On your browser, go to the printer's IP address (found under Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Summary).
- Check under Print Settings or Paper Handling for any margin or scaling settings and set defaults for borderless printing.
4. Update Firmware
- From the HP Smart app, go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Printer Updates.
- Install any available updates — older firmware versions had margin bugs.
5. Try a Print from a PC (Optional for Testing)
Just for testing, try printing the same image from a Windows or macOS computer using HP software. If the image prints correctly, this confirms the issue is related to iOS scaling via AirPrint or HP Smart for iOS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
