PhotoSmart C6280
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I want to save photos from an SD card via my PhotoSmart C6280. I insert the SD card into the SD card slot and use the control panel to select "Save." Photos display on the PhotoSmart Express screen, but I get an error message: "Not Set Up—You need to install device software." I've installed the printer on my Windows 10 laptop (the "full-feature" software). What else do I need to do?

For what it's worth: The printer itself is getting a bit long in the tooth, and so is the laptop. It runs Win10, but the machine is a Gateway MT6707 that dates to 2005. Of course, I'll my best to provide any additional information. I'm eager to hear from anyone who can help.

@E9Luke, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Have you tried printing from the SD card and check if that works?

Is the SD card detected by the printer?

To know how to use the SD card on the printer, refer to page 65 of the User guide

Let me know how this goes.
