Hi @ColinRemmer,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Certainly, I can guide you through the process of scanning a document on your HP Deskjet 2722e and saving it to your Windows 7 32-bit computer. Here are the general steps.
Check Connection:
- Ensure that your HP Deskjet 2722e is properly connected to your computer via USB or over a network.
Install HP Software:
- Make sure you have the necessary HP software/drivers installed on your Windows 7 computer. If not, you can download and install the latest drivers from the official HP website.
Place Document:
- Put the document you want to scan face down on the scanner bed.
Open HP Software:
- Open the HP scanning software on your computer. This can usually be found in the Start menu or on your desktop, depending on how you installed it.
Select Scan Type:
- Choose the type of scan you want (e.g., color or black and white).
Configure Settings:
- Adjust any scan settings such as resolution, file type, etc., according to your preferences.
Preview the Scan:
- Use the preview option if available to see how the scanned document will look.
Scan the Document:
- Start the scanning process.
Save the Scan:
- After scanning, you should be prompted to save the document. Choose a location on your desktop or in a folder where you want to save the scanned file.
Check the File:
- Navigate to the location where you saved the scanned file and check if it's there.
Email (Optional):
- If you want to email the scanned document, you can open your email client, create a new email, and attach the scanned file from the location you saved it.
Send Email:
- Compose your email and send it. Ensure that the attachment is properly added.
If you're having trouble with the email attachment not showing up, make sure the file format is supported by your email client. Common formats like PDF and JPEG should work. Also, check if there are any size limitations on the attachments imposed by your email provider.
If the issue persists, you might want to consider checking your email's sent folder to verify if the email was actually sent or if there were any error messages during the sending process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
