officejet 6500 E709n series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I use my all-in-one printer in a network.

Scan with 'ScanToPDF' wich is a Twain solution.

 

 

since the aniversy win 10 update 

- can not use ScanToPDF any more

- scanning with HP Solution scanner gives the same error:
(Dutch)  De scan kan niet worden uitgevoerd omdat het HP-beeldbewerkingsappraat zich in een network bevindt en wordt gebruikt door een ander programma of een andere computer. Probeer het later opnieuw.

 

(translated) Cannot scan since HP scanner is network and is used bij other computer.

 Try again later. 8, [ (0,18, -2147467259) ]

 

tried to solve it by manually forcing Windows to updated my drivers (officejet 6500 E709n series) . Driver update, but No result.

 

Scanning with Windows fax and scan (does not use Twain as far as  I know) works fine, but produces no PDF.

 

Help!

I understand you are having trouble scanning in pdf format after updating to Win 10. I would like to help.

 

I am afraid HP Solution center may not work in Windows 10 environment because of some compatibility issues.

I would suggest you use HP Scan and Capture application instead. HP Scan and Capture is a simple application that captures photos or documents from an HP scanning device or your computer's built-in camera.  These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared to other applications as well.

 

Go to http://hp.care/2bUVkrw to download and install the Windows Scan and Capture app.

 

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance

Hi Dvortex, thanx for your help!

 

I have some mixed feelings.

 

The HP Scan and Capture application was easy to install and works fine and easy.  It supports scanning multiple PDF pages and I can use the documentfeeder. Thank you for this solution.

At the same time I still think I am missing parts of my printer

- I can not use other programs like ScantoPDF that use a TWAIN interface with the printer. 

- The 'scan' button on my printer does not work anymore (it gives the error 'No Scan options' 

 

 

For now I'm pleased with the solution, but hope that HP will solve the last items in the future as well.

I have the same problems as described. Cannot use the scanner interface of my file management system anymore.

I hope the offered work-around as just temporarily and expect HP to offer a working Twain driver for Windows 10.
