I can retrieve a document from out client and print the page pdf. But if I take 10 pages of that same document, scan it via E87650 to my email, then try to print it, it will take 5 minutes to print those 10 pages. Any document run through the HP scan will print horrible. We use papercut

@Michael170, Welcome to HP Support Community!
To assist you better, I would like to know the following-
What exactly is the issue, slow printing or poor quality scanning?
What happens when you try to print documents directly from the computer?
Is the quality good when you make a photocopy on the printer itself?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Slow printing. If I scan any document and email it to myself as a pdf. and then try to print it will print like crap.It does no matter what it is. We scan at 300dpi.
If I do the following.... I have been working on a power point. 20 pages. I print it and have no issues. I scan it and email it to myself and print it... It prints like crap....
Crap = 5 pages a minute

Thanks for replying!
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.
I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”
😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers.
Now, download and install the full-featured software from here.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

We had a tech out and below is the summary.
Trane - our IT network specialist
Myself - Would be the servicing tech, not actually me. It was the servicing tech that wrote the email.
FROM THE TECH:
Here are the detailed notes regarding Trouble shooting of slow printing on 12-2-19. Trane and myself preformed these tests on Color HP E87650 MFP.
Machine was backed up (Cloned) before all testing.
Machine was wiped back to factory status (Full Format)default out of box condition) This removed all papercut traces, and all machine settings back to factory default. A fresh copy of the current 4.9.0.1 Firmware was then installed.
These Tests Used PS Driver version 6.225.1.23989
Trane Printed from His laptop A known Document #1920 that causes slow printing. The PDF document was scanned/created by the HP device and then sent to the machine.
Results: This document with Print as Image setting ON Printed normal Speed. With Print as Image Setting OFF Printed Slow.
Trane Printed from His Laptop a Old document #1819. This PDF was created/scanned in by an NON HP device at their old location.
Results: Print as Image setting ON Printed normal Speed, Print as Image setting OFF Printed Normal speed. ( No difference in speed print as image on or off)
We created a new PDF Document scanned/created by the HP device 30 pages to USB. I gave Trane this document and he copied it from my usb and put on his desktop to print.
Results: Print as Image Setting ON Printed normal speed, Print as Image setting OFF Printed Slow
Trane downloaded New PS Driver V6.8024296 We preformed the same tests on His laptop as above with the same results Print as Image OFF slow printing, Print as Image on Normal speed.
We also Did the same tests Using PCL6 Driver V6.8024296 Using Trane’s laptop Same results Print as image setting ON Normal printing, Print as Image off Slow Printing.
I connected My Laptop directly to the device, Via ethernet cable (Not through R&R insurance network), and tried the same tests as above PCL6 and PS Driver with the same results. Print as Image OFF Slow, Print as Image ON Normal speed. Only difference here is a slight performance start printing lag due to the ethernet crossover connection.
Summary From our tests today: When A new scanned PDF document is created the HP Device is preforming an action that causes the print to be slow Unless print as Image is defaulted on. Trane and myself did notice when installing the new latest driver version of both PS and PCL6 Print as Image was defaulted.
