Our set up:

HP laptop (Windows 11)
Mac desktop (need to check the OS)
HP OfficeJet Pro 8620
All are connected to the same Wireless Network.

Would like to be able to scan from the printer using its control panel as the Mac is downstairs and the printer is upstairs- currently 1. running upstairs, place the paper, 2. run downstairs use whatever software scan setting there is, 3. run back up to retrieve paper. Would like to remove step 2.

I have seen suggestions to use HP Smart Assistant but prefer not to have to sign in to set it all up.

So suggestions on best way/software to be able to set up the Windows and Mac computers to allow for "scan to computer"via control panel wirelessly are welcome.

Not possible, OJ Pro 8620 doesn't have that Scan to PC feature from the printers control panel.
