A year or  more ago after an HP firmware upgrade I lost the ability to scan to my network folder.  This has worked for years.  I have tried everything and spent HOURS trying to get this to work but it always gives me the same error:

"Cannot connect to the network folder. Ensure the shared folder name is correct."

I've re-installed everyting, upgraded all drivers, you name it.  I know the network is fine, I've tried referencing via hostname and via IP, no go.  I would love to revert the firmware to when it worked as this is an imprtant feature for us.....but HP does not provide legacy firmware.

There must be a solution as literally everything else related to the printer works fine.

Any help out there?

I have seen this happen with Windows Updates as well so you it could be either causing the issue. I have found with some customers that the only way to get the function working again is to perform a factory reset on the printer and start over. I have no idea why this works other than to speculate that some setting gets locked and does not change, even when you do make changes.

Since this erors even if I try to configure from the printer itself, my windows machine cannot be the issue.  Also, I have done a factory reset, reloaded all with same result.
