HP Oficejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer N911a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After a recent Window's automatic Window's 10 Update my printer which until then  worked just fine now gets a scanner failure error on startup.  I have spent numerous hours running HP Print and Scan Doctor, reinstalling the printer FULL printer software, turning off the firewall and retrying, running Windows support scan etc. all to no avail

Using an ethernet cable direct connect to the router, Verizon FIOS, and also tried getting it to work with a USB and wireless connection neither of which worked.  Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

@tx431, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates.

For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printing and scanning issues.

For more information, go to https://support.hp.com/in-en/topic/printscandoctor

Keep me posted for further assistance.
