Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

brand new OOB HP LJ Pro MFP428DW installation

Printer is on local network with two workstations

Linksys router

Network is functioning correctly

have tried both static and DHCP ip addresses

Printer works and users are able to print

Scanner "seems" to install but does not scan to computer from control panel or from computer

Have installed using full program from HP website

have uninstalled and reinstalled

have installed using HP smart

have installed using Windows built in drivers

have rebooted and removed printer and scanner after each test

have used Printer and Scanner Doctor

am now out of ideas.

Any thoughts?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
