I evidently have a retired product (Officejet j6480) that works on my Windows 11, but the scanner is not recognized... driver??

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing scanning issues with your HP All-In-One Printer.

 

As the scanning drivers are not available for Windows 11, I suggest that you scan using Windows paint.

 

And here's the step-by-step guide for you to scan using the Windows Paint software:

Windows Paint: In Windows, search for and open Paint. Click File or the Menu icon , and then click “From scanner or camera”
