Ever since I migrated to Windows 10, I have been experiencing a problem with scanning when using the HP Solution Center.
While scanning multiple pages, the scan function randomly freezes mid-page. The only remedy seems to be to unplug the printer and reboot my machine. Even then, I am unable to scan anything larger than 2-3 pages at a time so I'm suspecting some memory issues that are resolved by rebooting.
I am using the Windows 10 version of the Solution Center for this printer.
I don't have any problems with the print function.
And I should point out that I don't experience any problems when using the SAME printer on a Windows 7 machine with the Windows 7 version of the Solution Center which has allowed me to scan up to 30 pages at a time.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi,
Please make sure the DPI Settings are set as normal (100%). The HP Software supports 100% DPI only and may cause such behavior with higher DPIs for my experience:
Right click the Desktop background area and select Display Settings.
Ensure that "Change the size of text, apps and other items" is set as 100%.
Next click on "Custom Scaling" and ensure the valus is set as 100%.
Apply the changes and Reboot or Re-Logon as required.
Now try scanning and check for any difference.
If the same persists try installing and using HP Scan Extended below and see if you are getting any similar behavior or not, it will be installed under the HP Start menu folder:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Please let me know if any of these steps may help,
Shlomi

Thanks so much for your suggestions.
I first tried changing the display settings.
"Change the size of text, apps and other items" was already set to 100%.
I activated "Custom Scaling" to 100% even though that was marked as not recommended.
These settings definitely improved the number of pages I could scan with HP Solution Center - up to 10 pages before the freezing mid-page and the printer indicating "scan cancelled" re-occurred.
Then I tried HP Scan Extended and that worked beautifully: I was able to scan a 40-page document without any problems.
Very much appreciate all your help.

That's great to see you are now up and running again with your scanner!
Cheers,
