@Jocelynr123, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
To scan documents using the HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer, you will need to follow these steps:
Using HP Smart App (Recommended)
Download and Install HP Smart:
- If you haven't already, download and install the HP Smart app from HP's website or the app store on your mobile device or computer.
Open HP Smart App:
- Open the app on your mobile device or computer. Make sure your printer and device are connected to the same wireless network.
Add Your Printer:
- If the HP ENVY 6455e is not already added to the app, you will need to do so by selecting "Add Printer" and following the on-screen instructions.
Prepare to Scan:
- Place the document you want to scan on the scanner glass, print side down. Align it according to the guides on the scanner glass.
Select Scan:
- From the HP Smart app home screen, select the "Scan" option.
Choose Scan Type:
- Select the type of scan (document or photo) and make any desired adjustments to the scan settings.
Start Scanning:
- Click the "Scan" button to start the scanning process.
Save or Share:
- Once the scan is completed, you can save the scanned document to your device, email it, or share it through other supported methods.
Using Printer Control Panel
Load the Document:
- Place the document you want to scan on the scanner glass, with the print side down.
Start Scan from Panel:
- Using the printer control panel, select the scan option and follow the prompts to scan directly to a computer or email. This method requires printer software and drivers to be installed on the computer.
I hope this helps.
