Hello,

I have had the same problem for a while now, my printer keeps saying 'service station stalled' every time I turn it on. When I touch OK to start the automatic recovery progress, this keeps popping up... I have tried everything that was on the website, there are no jams, but it looks like the cartridges stop a little bit too far to the left than where it normally should be... Can anyone help me? I've already turned the printer in for repair, but I still have the same problem...

Hi @Fauve

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This seems like an issue with the printer carriage. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Preferences > Printer update

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, perform the steps mentioned in this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello,

I followed the steps you sent me, but it still doesn't work. If I click onto something with cartridges (for example clean cartridges or align printer), the follow message comes onto the screen: "The cartridges are set to default print quality. Touch "OK" to continue". But if I click on OK and try again, I still get the same message. I also still have the problem of Station Stalled. Is there still something I can do?

@Fauve, that's unfortunate. If the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
