Please try these steps -

Download and install HP Print and Scan Doctor, it is a Windows tool to fix printer issues.

If the issue still persists, try re-installing the printer driver -

1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".

2. Look for HP Printer software.

3. Right-click to uninstall.

4. In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.

5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.

6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).

8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.

9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.

10. Select Ok.

11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.

12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.

13. Restart the computer.

14. Download and install the software and drivers from here for Windows 10 (32-bit).

15. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi @CinderKona

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printer issue.

To choose a default printer, select the Start  button and then Settings . Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default. If you have Let Windows manage my default printer selected, you'll need to deselect it before you can choose a default printer on your own.

In Windows 10, your default can be the printer you last used. To turn on this mode, open Start  and select Settings  > Devices > Printers & scanners. Select the checkbox beside Let Windows manage my default printer

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

To set the default printer options, open your printer software, and in the "Print, Scan & Fax" tab - select the Print - Select Preferences option. You can create a shortcut with the features you want when printing, and save it for future use. There is a separate setting for Scan preferences under the "Scan - Scan a Document or Photo" option.

Hi @ Cookie-65

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Cannot print from computer" issue.

To better assist you -

1) Does the copy work?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or devices?

3)What is the status of the wireless light on the printer, steady or blinking?

While you respond to that, Try a power reset on the printer-

Reset the product

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  6. Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Use these tips and procedures to help troubleshoot and avoid USB connectivity issues.

  • Restart the printer and the computer: Restarting the computer and the printer can clear possible error conditions.

  • Reconnect the cable: Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer.

  • Connect to a different USB port: Connect the cable to a different USB port on the computer.

  • Disconnect from a USB hub or docking station: If you are using a USB hub or docking station, try connecting the cable directly to the computer.

  • Try a different USB cable: Use a different USB cable. HP supports USB cables less than 3 m (9 ft 10 in) in length.

  • Disconnect other USB devices: If you have several USB-connected devices, such as another printer, the computer might not have sufficient power supplied to the USB ports to detect all of them. Disconnect any other USB devices that are not in use.

NOTE:

Be sure that the printer is connected to a 2.0 USB port in the computer.

You can refer to USB Setup

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
