Hi @6_Shooter,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Below are general instructions for setting up the scanner on a Windows computer.
Install Software:
- Ensure that the necessary software and drivers for your HP printer are installed on your computer. You can usually find the software on the installation CD that came with your printer or download the latest version from the official HP website.
Connect Printer:
- Make sure your printer is connected to your computer either through a USB cable or via a network connection.
Enable Scan to Computer:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Scan menu.
- Look for an option like "Scan to Computer" or "Scan to PC" and ensure that it is enabled.
HP Printer Assistant:
- HP often provides a software tool called "HP Printer Assistant" that helps manage your printer functions. Check if it's installed on your computer. If not, you can download it from the HP website.
Create Desktop Shortcut:
- Once the software is installed, you can create a desktop shortcut for quick access.
- Right-click on your desktop.
- Select "New" and then "Shortcut."
- In the location field, enter the path to the scanning software or browse to find it.
- Click "Next" and give your shortcut a name.
- Click "Finish" to create the shortcut.
Test the Scanner:
- Use the newly created shortcut to open the scanning software.
- Look for an option like "Scan a Document" or "Scan a Photo."
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the scanning process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
