Can I sent up the Hp DeskJet 2800e all-in-one series with a wire? Would I lose the printer's features? Would I not be able to print?

If you are an instant ink subscriber you will not be able to solely connect via USB but in terms of functionality in printing it should be the same regardless of wifi or usb connection. Some advanced scanning functions may not be available via USB.
