I recently purchased a new set of genuine HP Cartridges for my OfficeJet Pro 8025e. Once installed the printer sat at validating for a long period of time. I performed a Restore Factory Defaults to clear the validating error. Now I get the Setup Incomplete error on the device. I have tried multiple times to factory reset the device, Removed the printer from my account, removed the printer from printers and scanners, uninstalled HP Smart, reinstalled everything and ran the setup again. Each time the result is the same, printer shows online and ready but as soon as I print it says Setup is Incomplete. Even tried it with an HP Secure Erase a couple of times with no luck. Is there any verified way to get around this issue?

Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
- Make sure cartridges are installed correctly.
- Turn off and unplug the printer for 1 minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Cancel any pending print jobs in Printers & Scanners on your PC.
- Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to fix issues.
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Check for Updates on your printer.
- Go to HP Support, search for your model, download the latest firmware from the Software and Drivers section, and run the file to update your printer.
- Connect the printer directly to your PC with a USB cable.
- Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners and re-add the printer.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
