Documentation is virtually useless. Setup went fine using my iphone so I know the printer seems to function fine.
However, when trying to setup my windows 10 machine on my 2.4g network band (same band as printer,; can see HP ip address on my router software) the setup software cannot find the printer. If I change my wifi network to connect directly to the printer wifi (DIRECT-6F-HP OFFICEJET 5200) setup finds and installs but once I connect back to the regular wifi (internet) the printer iis offline and undiscoverable. WTH?

Hi @Jmilina
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
- Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
- Go to Tools > print a test page
If you are able to access the printer's EWS page, it means PC and printer are connected.
Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win PC
Click here to download and know more about the app.
If the issue persists, go to printers and scanners and delete the HP printers
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless icon on the printer screen
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
- Try printing in color.
If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
