Hi @Hans1963

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like your HP Smart Tank 7605 is having trouble connecting to the server when using the Shortcut button directly on the printer.

Since the shortcuts work from your laptop, the issue might be related to the printer's direct connection to the server.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Check Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest firmware for your printer model.

Verify Web Services:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to "Setup" > "Web Services Setup" and ensure Web Services are enabled. If not, enable them and try again.

Reset Web Services:

  • If Web Services are already enabled, try resetting them. Disable Web Services, wait for a minute, and then re-enable them. This can refresh the connection to the server.

Check Network Configuration:

  • Even though network reports are successful, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your laptop. Avoid using guest networks or networks with restricted access.

Recreate Shortcuts:

  • Delete the existing shortcuts and recreate them using the HP Smart app. This can help resolve any configuration issues.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
