1. Sometimes fails to print anything or stops printing half way through job.
2. Regularly get printer spurious error messages but printing actually works ok.
3. Takes a long time to send the print command to printer compare to Windows 10.

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Remove Old Printer
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
Click your HP printer > Remove
Download & Install the Correct Driver
Go to:
HP ENVY 5640 e-All-in-One Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Select Windows 10 (64-bit) if Windows 11 isn’t shown.
Download the “Full Feature Software and Drivers”
Install it and follow the steps.
Make Sure It’s Set as Default
Go to Settings > Printers
Click your HP printer > Set as Default
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
