If your HP Smart Tank 7602 printer continues to display a "Fill Tanks" message even after you have refilled all the ink tanks, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Ensure Proper Ink Filling:
- Make sure that each ink bottle is properly matched to the corresponding ink tank color.
- Confirm that the ink bottle was correctly placed on the tank nozzle and all the ink was drained without squeezing the bottle.
Check Ink Levels:
- Verify that the ink tanks are indeed full and that there is no misunderstanding with the ink level indicator.
Firmware Update:
- Update the printer firmware directly from the printer control panel.
- On the Home screen of the printer display, touch Menu.
- Scroll down, and then touch Tools > Maintenance > Firmware.
- Select the option to update the firmware.
Power Cycle:
- Try performing a soft or hard power cycle. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then power it back on.
Scanning with HP Smart App:
- Use the HP Smart app to attempt a scan and verify if connectivity is affected due to ink status erroneously being reported.
