Smart Tank P;us 570, firmware up to date.
Printing from any windows application gives a large (> 1.5cm) bottom margin regardless of document settings, and cuts off the print.
The print dialogue does not allow change of border sizes, and there is no "borderless" option.
Note that if I select another non-HP inkjet printer type, then I do get all options and the ability to print all of my image without scaling. I am therefore concluding that this is a driver issue. Is there any way to adjust the margins on this printer?

- Open the Control Panel and navigate to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP Smart Tank Plus 570 and select Printer Properties.
- Go to the Advanced tab and click on Printing Defaults.
- Look for any margin settings and adjust them if possible.
Print Preferences:
- In the same Printer Properties window, go to the General tab and click on Preferences.
- Check for any margin settings or options for borderless printing.
2. Update or Reinstall Printer Driver: Software and Drivers for HP Smart Tank Plus 570 Wireless All-in-One series
Update Driver:
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest driver for the HP Smart Tank Plus 570.
- Install the driver and check if the issue persists.
Reinstall Driver:
- Uninstall the current printer driver from Device Manager.
- Reinstall the latest driver from the HP website.
3. Use a Different Print Application:
Sometimes, the application you're using to print might be affecting the print output. Try printing from different applications like Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader, or any other software you frequently use.
4. Adjust Page Size and Scaling:
Page Size:
- In your print settings, ensure that the page size is set to A4.
Scaling Options:
- Check if there are any scaling options available in the print dialogue. Select options like "Fit to Page" or "Actual Size".
5. Borderless Printing:
If the borderless printing option is not available in the print dialogue, you might need to enable it from the printer settings or driver:
- Printer Driver Settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP Smart Tank Plus 570 and select Printer Properties.
- Check the driver settings for any options related to borderless printing.
6. Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
Ensure that the printer firmware is up to date. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve printing issues:
- Update Firmware:
- Go to the HP Support website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
7. Custom Paper Size:
- Custom Paper Size:
- In the print settings, create a custom paper size that mimics the dimensions of A4 but allows for smaller margins.

additional info:
I normally use A4 paper, this is where I have the problem. Tried looking at print-preview with alternative sizes. Smaller paper of course only showed a part of the page on the print area, yet still had a greyed out large bottom margin.
I selected "legal" which is longer. Here I saw my whole page on the print area, some white space then a greyed out bottom area. However, I then printed this (A4 loaded on the printer) and the entire page printed, right to the bottom of the page. So I "fooled" the driver!
This shows that the large bottom margin is not a physical/mechanical issue with the printer.

deinstalled existing driver, and reinstalled manually (not using automated HP Smart).
Now I get options for the printer, including borderless. All normal 'Update' options just said I had the most recent driver. Probably true, but not the right one!
