HP DeskJet 3634 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My problem is that I installed the software for my HP Deskjet 3634 in 2019 and had no issues til recently when SmartWebPrinting.msi tried to install at StartUp and again when entering control panel. I’ve uninstalled, deleted and tried practically all suggestions I’ve seen to resolve this. I’ve updated everything on my PC and Smart Web Printing will not uninstall from Programs and Features.   I’ve reset the PC to factory-condition by formatting the drive and reinstalling Windows 7 Pro and the printer, which proved fruitless….it still tries to install. I cannot install anything new because the SmartWebPrinting appears again trying to install itself. I put a brand-new hard drive in my laptop, installed Windows 7 Pro and was again met with SmartWebPrinting trying to install. Seriously? On a brand-new hard drive?  How is that possible and what is the solution for getting rid of it permanently? I’m in dire need of help!

Caveat:

I've not used Windows 7 for a long time.

The following is based on what I found on the 'net.

Start...

Smart Web Printing is a browser extension.

Search through your Browser extensions...

I found mention of HP Smart Web Printing in Internet Explorer -- the browser is retired, but there might be remnants of IE lurking in your account.

"Smart Web Printing" is not part of the current Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

Reference - Web Pack Installation Package:

HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories

The following is relevant in that it explains where the data was located in the old printer software.

For reference:  "Should I remove it" - HP Smart Web Printing

In so much that I am aware -- even on Windows 7 -- The current printer software does not use the old folder designation "Digital Imaging".

What about "Start" menu?

Where do Start Menu\All Programs shortcuts reside?

No, assuming you are not reloading old account data or AppData folder entries, I cannot explain how this artifact is being installed on a fresh OS installation.
