I can print test pages in color, but when I try to print from my Mac, the only printing options I can select from are all in Black & White. No options to print in color appear anywhere (in the HP SmartApp or when clicking on printer preferences in the Mac menu or when the print menu comes up). The Smart App shows that there is a color cartridge installed and that there is ink in it (verified by the test prints). I uninstalled and reinstalled the Smart App. Same problem. No way to print in color from my Mac. Please help. Thanks!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to print in color, I am glad to assist you.

Update the Mac OS

  1. From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click Software Update in the System Preferences window.
  3. Software Update now checks for new software.
    • If Software Update finds new software, click Update Now or Upgrade Now to install. You might be asked to restart or enter an administrator password.

With all due respect, I posted this more than two weeks ago and just now am getting a response. I uninstalled the HP Smart app and reinstalled it then, and it seemed to fix the problem. A response from HP two weeks after encountering a problem is pretty worthless. I also soaked the tri-color cartridge in hot water for five minutes, and that loosened up the magenta, so that's now working too. I found that solution with a google search. Disappointing support from a company that should do better.
