The printer is having trouble feeding the page. After printing the first side, it pauses before rolling the paper back in to print the other side.

Welcome to the HP Community --

 

The first page needs time to dry before the paper is swept back inside the printer.

 

If the delay is seconds, it's fine - normal behavior.

 

If the delay is minutes, not-so-much -- In this case, check your Paper Size / Type, and the Page Size (Fit, Actual, other).

already checked the paper size. I think it's an hardware failure. TY

Although less likely, hardware can certainly fail.


If you have not done so,

Consider -

Complete the steps in the Troubleshooting guide in the order presented.

HP printers - Slow printing (Windows, macOS)

 

Next,

If you believe failed printer hardware is the source of the problem,

and

If the printer is still in-Warranty,

Consider submitting a Warranty repair request to HP Support.
