I've seen this issue elsewhere but the fixes posted haven't worked for me - I've spent two hours losing my mind trying everything I can think of and now I need someone to grace me with their knowledge.

 

I replaced my old HP printer because after a refresh of my OS HP wouldn't let me reinstall it as they no longer supported the drivers - they wouldn't even let me run the original software disk.

 

So begrudgingly I bought a smart HP printer 2710e - followed the instructions, it printed a test page and I used it to scan docs and create PDFs - so alls fine - so fast forward a couple months and I've written a letter in Word 2010 tried to print it, the job goes through but not text on the page once printed.

 

Printer prints a web page fine.

 

I followed the solutions maked on this forum as a fix - those being adjust the user account - didn't work - remove the printer and reinstall - didn't work, then finally went to the HP website and downloaded the 200mb pack to install the printer - that didn't work.

 

I'm beyond peeved - why I wasn't allowed to install my old printer which worked fine is beyond me - buy now HP have forced me to spend money - the stupid smart printer can't print a simple word document.

- Exact model number of your HP Product (Click here for information on how to find the model number).

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial number, phone number, email ID, etc.


- Let me know if the printer is connected to Windows Computer or MAC Computer or Android Phone or iPhone.

- Let me know the version of the operating system installed on the computer connected to the printer. 

- Connection method - USB, physical LAN, or wireless?
- Snapshot of the error messages (if any) on the unit.

The printer is a HP 2710e as detailed above. The machine is a HP Pavillion 15-n038sa Notebook PC running Windows 10 Ver 22H2 it's been connected via WiFi and USB at different times to try and trouble shoot - both failed to print the word document. I didn't bother with the physical LAN because if it didn't work with a single USB cable then sending it to a router only for it to come back from the router via two cables won't solve it either.

 

I have two other laptops and just like the one detailed here, the Word documents don't print. The job spools, the printer takes the paper, but doesn't put text on the page. The only work around that I've found is to PDF the document and smart print the PDF but then the font size is all wrong. It prints a web-page fine.

 

It also won't print anything from microsoft's Word Pad.

 

Exact same issues on all laptops I'm running.

 

This isn't a problem particular to me - do a search - it's seems to be an issue with your new printers.

 

There are no error messages displayed either on the printer or the laptops. The jobs complete as normal as if they've been printed.

I see that you are facing issues with printing word document from your HP Deskjet HP 2710e all in one Printer.

  

You may download and install the firmware update by following the steps from this document. (Click on the word document to open the web page).
