Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer installed with v.14.0.15343.436 but HP Support Assistant flags up an update which is v.14.0.15309.432.  This seems to be an eartlier version than what is installed already so do I ignore the HP Support Assistant flag?

Hi @sheffieldsteel,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues with the software version for your HP LaserJet printer. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you with this.

After reviewing your post, I did go through the software and driver page and found that the latest version of software available on our HP website is 14.0.15309.432

For more assistance, please go through this link: Click here

Since the printer works fine, I would suggest you could ignore HP Support assistant message.

If you seem to have an issue with the printer, I would suggest here is to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers:

Let's try these steps here:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Now click on this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/LES/M252/HP_LaserJet_M252_Full_Software_and_Drivers_15309.e... and install the updated printer software

15.) Connect the USB cable only when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
